Language Courses

Interactive and focused classroom activities will give students the opportunity to practise grammatical structures and new vocabulary in authentic situations. Students will receive personal attention and teachers adapt the content of the course to suit the particular needs and interests of your group.

Different teachers have different styles of teaching. In class you will often work in pairs or small groups so you have the chance to speak as much English (or other language course which you are studying) as possible. Teachers and students take their studies seriously and work very hard, but you will also have a lot of fun in class.

ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS

You will improve your understanding of written and spoken English (or other language course which you are studying). You will improve your pronunciation and gain confidence in speaking, listening reading and writing. You will also develop a greater awareness of grammar structure, so you can communicate more fluently and effectively in English (or other language course which you are studying).

You will learn a lot about British culture and make friends from all over the world: most of students are of all ages and nationalities. You will receive your certificate end of your courses.

BEGINNER & ELEMENTARY

  • The BEGINNER students can communicate basic information orally and can understand predictable language.
  • The ELEMENTARY students can communicate common information, ask for information and understand the reply.

LOWER INTERMEDIATE & INTERMEDIATE

  • The LOWER INTERMEDIATE student is beginning to understand the English tense system, can talk about him/herself and his/her past. He/she can also convey basic information in writing.
  • The INTERMEDIATE student can use and understand a variety of language functions to give and ask for information, narrate events and describe things, people and places. He/she can communicate effectively in writing, though the written language produced will be recognizably non-native.

UPPER INTERMEDIATE

The UPPER INTERMEDIATE student can communicate effectively and could hold a meaningful conversation with a native speaker. He/she has no significant comprehension problems.

Written language produced is beginning to resemble native speaker production. Students who have reached this level have our recommendation to take the Cambridge First Certificate examination (or other language course exam which you are studying).

ADVANCED & PROFICIENCY

The ADVANCED student has reached a level of English (or other language course which you are studying) which not all learners can aspire to. He/she has mastered all the essential grammatical forms of the language and needs only to develop a more sophisticated vocabulary.

Written language-though it may still display lapses due to mother tongue interference-is effective and appropriate to type. Students who have reached this level have our recommendation to take Cambridge CAE or, for the most advanced, the Cambridge Proficiency examination (or other language course exam which you are studying).
